Re: ordering parts by e-mail

Hi Gang!
Hi David R!

Regarding shipping USPS, they, IAP, said it's only if order is below
US$50......
They are afraid it might get lost and get no insurance.........
Well......... no comments.....
The other issue must be going to the post office instead of having some
one (UPS, DHL, etc.) picking parcels up.... more convenient but at our
expense......

Regarding parts pricing online we must agree that is difficult to put
10.000 parts online...
Look at IAP, they have been trying to set something up for the last one
or two years....
Centerline, have an extensive price list on line, but updating is a
nightmare.....

Besides, there are many parts that we need that they might order only
when you ask for those.... so price might vary enormously......
Not ranting, but I am preparing to Fax/Call one of our dear and beloved
parts supplier that has a nice price on oil filters and the like (and
some other larger items)........
And although he replied at my first email, no prices were given....
Just a small comment on drop shipment and expensive shipping....

I don't know, but these guys must get parts from a freight forwarder,
so, why don't they just call these FF up and ask them how much for a
cubic meter to this God forsaken place?

Most FF would be happy to provide this quotation.

Regarding WEB presence, most people email for any small item.... but
then if you put up a page with no prices... well, imagine amazon.com
without any prices??????? How many people would they have just to read
email??????? Would a thousand souls suffice?
