Alfa transplants cont....

Thanks everyone for your opinions concerning my thoughts on "bastardization".
I agree that there are many spiders out there so losing one or two here and
there to "heart transplants" shouldn't really matter all that much in the long
run...however in the case of Alfa's when I began my search, I found few that
were taken care of, maintained, loved enough by prior owners for me to
purchase them. My search was long enough that I was at times, very
discouraged so I am sensitive to their "conversions". I guess I am an extreme
purist.

As for a fellow not having the money to fix or rebuild an Alfa motor and
instead, replacing with a 240z engine or the like, I still have to stand on
the side of purity. My best friends father owned a Jaguar/Lotus repair
facility in Tacoma, Washington for a number of years. He always used to say,
"If you own a race horse, you gotta feed it alfalfa."
