Re: V6 Spider



A few years ago, somebody showed up at the All Italian Day in Alameda, CA
with an Alfa Spider that had a Ferrari Dino V6 stuffed in it. I think the
original hood fit, too. The sound it made was glorious. ;=) It was a MAJOR
surgical operation.

One of my favorite old time stories is the one about the roundtail I saw
in the Griswold Company lot back in '74 or '75. Jon Norman was running the
parts counter at the time. I got my parts and headed out, only to overhear
the service manager giving some poor slob an earful about California smog,
etc. The dejected owner got in his roundtail and prepared to drive off. It 
was red, with Venezuelan plates. I thought, "Wait a minute, Duettos don't
have dual exhausts." When he fired it up and drove off there was the
unmistakable rumble of an American V8...
