Well, I haven't actually done this, but a similar question came up on the
vintage-race email list. The conclusion there was that if you go with the
45s, you can always fit a smaller venturi to get back some low end torque.
If you stay with 40s, you can only go so large on the venturi, and that's
it. You will be unable to explore the top end limits any further once you
have fitted the largest venturi available for a 40 DCOE.
