45 DCOEs vs. 40 DCOEs on built 2 Liter

Hi folks,
This weekend, we yank the 2000 motor out of my '69 GTV and begin the rebuild
process. The car is used as a street toy/track car, so I am rebuilding the
motor with an eye towards performance rather than day-to-day drivability.
The finished engine will have: 10:1 pistons, Steve Haniford stage 3 head,
asymmetric cams (7L exhaust and 8 intake), Crane XR700 ignition, lightened
flywheel, etc. Currently the engine runs Dellorto 40 DHLA carbs and
although I like the Dellortos, many parts are NLA which makes tuning a
difficult process. For this reason I am considering replacing them with
Webers (please save the Spica advice -- for a number of reasons specific to
this particular car, I am sticking with side drafts) but am not sure if I
should move up to 45 DCOEs or stick with the 40s.
Does anyone with a similarly modified 2 liter engine have any direct
experience with 45 DCOEs vs. 40 DCOEs? I know that I will trade some
low-end torque for extra pull at the top end, but I am not clear on how big
a difference this will make at those extremes. Any advice from people who
have actually driven a 2 liter with 45s is appreciated.
Thanks,
John
