Regarding Mike's problem; I too suffered the dreaded "tunnel-slap" on my
'74 GTV and after replacing all the same parts, it turned out to be a
distorted (i.e. "tweaked") trans-mount which goes along w/ Jack's washer
repair solution. We just replaced mine but that solved the mystery. I
suspect jacking-up the car using this mount over a period of time to be
the cause.
