Re: VW or Alfa?
Fahrvernuegen or Cuore Sportivo?
I am faced with the same problem, but my girlfriend won't allow me to buy
an SUV or a station wagon. She hates SUVs and she thinks station wagons are
dumpy. She'll only let me get another Alfa, so I have been looking at 164S.
This will make it 3.5 alfas for me.
The 164S has the ski bag through the rear seats for ski, it has a large
trunk, twice the size of my Milano's, you will need a roof rack for canoe,
kayaks etc... and the back seats are plenty big enough for dogs.
I still would rather have a station wagon to schlepp stuff around but I am
losing this battle, the 164 is about as practical as I am allowed to be for
the foreseeable future.
Yeah, I have gotten old, I used to refuse to own any cars with back seats
or a roof, but I have been sneaking around to Home Depot alot lately.
VW quality may be getting better, but many friends around Boston have had a
terrible time with them FahrVernuegen wagens. On the contrary, I am on my
9th or 10th Alfa and they all have been pretty reliable and inexpensive,
thanks to Paul Glynn.
