Motronic 4.1 in 91 Spider

I have a very similar problem with a 1991 Alfa 33 which is
fitted with ML4.1 injection. I have found that when this oocurs
I can clear it by either aggressivly flooring and releasing the
throttle or by dipping the clutch and blipping the throttle =

hard. I know 2 other people who had / have the same problem.
One had the problem disappear when they fitted a new air
flow meter, and this will be my first point of investigation
when I have a chance to look in detail.

I suspect that it is a problem the vane sticking or that
the reostat in the air flow meter has a dead spot.
