Securing Cloth Tops

I spent the weekend installing a new top on my '86 spider. Now that it's
on I would like to keep it in as good shape as possible. I noticed in the
IAP catalog they advertise some bungy looking top tie downs to keep the
rubbing to a minimum. Where do these attach to the top and to the inside
of the car? Can I just use a bungy or a strap? BTW - I bought the top from
Caribou Canvas - the installation was straightforward although
time-consuming, and it looks great. The top comes with minimal
instructions, but luckily I already had the factory convertible top
installation manual. If you are planning on replacing a spider cloth top,
get the manual first - I would have been lost w/out it!
