Re: Transaxle snow tires

<<Anybody out there in the snow belt have luck with some good snow tires.
That is not you Bill H.... I got some Blizzaks for the pathfinder this year
and I thought they sucked. Wouldn't turn worth beans in most sircumstances.
So before I got something for the milano I would ask around now that you
all have had a chance to test out what ever you have.>>

I have an '87 Milano Gold that I bought specifically as a winter car. it has
14" steel wheels with 185/65/14 Bridgestone Blizzak MZ02 (NOT the original
Blizzaks - the MZ02 just came out this year). Winter has been mild this year
in New York, but I travel to the Massachusetts Berkshires periodically, and
I've hit some very severe weather several times. Not once did the Milano feel
insecure. In fact, I was able to pass a number of 4x4 SUV's in the unplowed
lane on the Taconic parkway (I was in the unplowed lane, not the SUV's). I
have had good traction in both snow and ice. Granted, you need to understand
winter driving, which is something that I happen to love. On the downside,
the tires feel very mushy in dry conditions. In strong cross winds you can
feel the tread blocks squirming. While it is annoying, it certainly doesn't
feel unsafe at all. I think I'll get three seasons out of this set, if I'm
carefull with them when it's dry. I could easily see destroying them in one
day of aggressive, dry weather driving! They are VERY soft!
