Re: Milano hood (bonnet) release lever

Frank asked:
"Now I pull at the lever inside the car and nothing happens. Any idea
how else I can open my hood?"

What a coincidence, I just fixed mine tonight. My lever also wasn't
pulling the locking plate far enough to the drivers side and
consequently, it would not open. Get a long skinny screw driver or
steel rod and a flashlight. Shine the flashlight through the grill,
study the lock mechanism and figure out what the cable pulls on. Stick
the rod in from the passenger side of the grill and push the release
mechanism over to the drivers side until it opens.

Now you'll have to readjust the release cable (I'm assuming the cable is
not broke, shouldn't be). First remove the grill by removing the
Philips head screw at the top center of the grill. Then gently pry the
four bayonet pins out of their holders on each side of the grill. The
grill should come right off. Push the release lever inside the car all
the way forward. Undo the cable pinch screw at the release mechanism,
grab the free end of the cable and pull, tightening it up. Screw in
the pinch screw, and test it. If everything works, reassemble the grill
or tighten up the cable some more if it doesn't work.
