Andrew, thanks for the correction. My only experience of the 33 is from the
passenger seat, so I was not aware of these differences. Sounds like Alfa took
a step backward in elegance (most likely in order to take a step forward in
reliability and ease of maintenance). Of course, this should make the Sud
procedure I outlined even easier on a 33. This method is only really viable
because of the convenient shape of the boxer engine, which gives you the
required stability on the jacks. I don't think this would work on an in-line
design. I presume I was correct that the 33 still has the flat 4 cylinder? It
seems my knowledge of UK Alfas is so out-of-date I can no longer assume
anything :(.
