ATF in da PS

Carson,
I may be off here, but I think ATF and PS fluid are kinda-almost the same
thing. Been using Castrol Syntec ATF [Dexron III Mercon] for some time in my
164. No pump problems, only the booties are pissing.

- ---The factory recommends using ATF as power steering oil anybody know why?
Anybody using ---ATF or just me and my leaky pump?
