Sorry, I wish to make a slight extension to what was already a long post.

"Sex and the Brain" is by no means a paeon to Male Chauvinism.  The
differences, and corresponding superiorities, are documented, both ways.

It looks like the female is closer to a basic human constitution, with the
male tailored to specific capabilities.  The male capabilities are gained
at the cost of a shorter life-span, lower survivability, and wider swings
- -- yes, virtually all genuises are male, and correspondingly, virtually
all criminal psychoapths are male.  The male immune system is crude in
comparison -- the female must tolerate a "foriegn" body during gestation
- -- but again, this powerful and sophisticated immune system can turn
against itself (Lupus).  It is a fantastic symphony of complimentarity.

It makes as much sense to ponder if apples and oranges are "equal".  They
are simply different, each with its own superiorities.  As the French (are
said to) say:  "vive l'difference".
