Modern Alfas

Folks,
     My local Alfa dealer here in Dublin invited us , by us I mean my 
father in law and I to the launch of the latest addition to the family. 
My father in law has purchased a new 156 Lusso 2.0 T.Spark and is a 
regular customer. the launch in question was that of the new Alfa 166.
      Now I think you'll agree the 156 is a fine looking car and 
extremely well put together, every bit as good as their German 
rivals,but the 166 is a top score also. Had a quick spin in the 166 3.0 
V6 Lusso and was very impressed. Someday I'll buy one, but I'll have to 
wait a good few years first especially as the range starts at IR29,500 
and climbes to IR42,000.
      Anyway my point is that if they continue to make cars this 
good,where demand far exceeds supply their products alone will enable 
them to conquer other markets. Fiat is also doing better in Europe than 
ever before. I doubt if GM have been in that position anywhere on the 
globe in quite a long time!!.
