My wife's 164L makes the same sound on acceleration, changes pitch and
becomes inaudible when reaching a steady speed.   Someone posted a
message about the HVAC fan motor's bearing becoming worn. Consequently
the slack allows the fan (in the US we call it a squirrel cage) to
wobble.  Even slight G-forces seem to alter the speed.  Haven't had it
apart to check it yet.
