RE: GM & Fiat

Actually, there are a couple of factors that make a GM/Fiat (Alfa)
marriage make sense.  After all, both companies have large market shares
in their own regions, but have a difficult time selling their products in
each other's markets.  For all you conspiracy theorists out there, I
offer the following IRREFUTABLE evidence of the secret historical
cooperative ties between the two companies:

1.  Both companies have utilized Pininfarina to design their best
two-seater convertibles (e.g.: Allante).
2.  Both companies have produced cars named "Berlinetta" -- numerous
Ferraris and a Chevy Camaro.
3.  Both companies have produced cars named "GTA" (though then again,
Renault also produced a "GTA" -- bleh!)
4.  Both companies built cars with Quad 4 engines (Spider Quadrifoglio?)

Okay, that last one is a bit of a stretch but most conspiracies always
seem that way at first.  Just don't be surprised when the new Pontiac
FireBerlinas and Transportivas hit the market!!!
