I'm a happy cow in the quadrifoglio patch(Alfetta questions),long

Greetings Alfisti!
first, thank you Jon Hertzman and Ian Lomax for identifying my Alfetta
"mystery car".I'm still smiling from the first drive in the car, knowing what
I'm driving now is keeping the smile there, like a cow in the
clover/quadrifoglio patch.
I have a quite a few questions, though.I apologise to all digesters for
asking so many questions, but this inquiring mind needs to know......
1.Anybody have a factory 1979 Alfetta coupe owners manual and factory
workshop manual they want to sell?Did Haynes make a manual for this car?
2.Anybody have exact numbers on how many Mille Miglias were built? What is the
value of the car?(Driver's value, not necessarily monetary investment
value. This car will be driven every other day;Alfie, my '87 Milano gold might
want a day off once in a while:)
3.the car does not have the rear wiper/washer,but the hatchback looks to be
the same one originally on the car as built, down to the paint code sticker on
the rear hatch lid, which says "PPG paint" and the code itself which is "AR
610",and the attach points for the spoiler.Got any ideas?
4.Were the door handles painted on these cars?Mine are in body color.
5.Is there a specific VIN coding/sequence of numbers that signifies the
special editions?
6.Where is the digital clock located in the car?The radio was yanked out of
this car and the cosmetics part of the dash underneath the heater controls
has been taken apart,I'm assuming a new heater control valve went
in.......Does the clock mount in this area?(Got the stuff laying in the back
seat but haven't gone through it yet.)
7.I cannot get 2nd gear in this car.1st,3rd,4th and 5th are fine.Haven't tried
double clutching it, but my usual Milano"first gear, neutral, slow into
second"technique only results in grinding. All of the other gears "feel"
good, but the shifts don't seem as precise as my Milano. The shifter feels
really loose and "sloppy". Reverse engages, but it feels (Compared to my
Milano)like you need to reach a few FEET over and down to get it.I've never
fiddled with shift linkages, could it be a messed up shift linkage that's
causing my inability to get second gear engagement? The clutch feels like new,
too.
8.Jon, you mention an "electronic antenna" was part of the sound system. The
radio was yanked out (what type of Blaupunkt radio was it,if you know,so I can
look for one). The one on this car is an amplified antenna, but not a power
antenna. Is this what you meant by an electronic antenna?(This antenna is
seriously amped, too for a car antenna.I'll get the part number and type of
this antenna;post it and if anyone has a spare one I'd like to get one for my
Milano.)
9.This is a 1979 model Alfetta;do these later model Alfettas go through
driveshaft donut failures like the Sport sedans of the same vintage?I'm
surmising that the front donut is bad;I'm getting a bit of noise and vibration
from what seems like this area.I'm also getting some noise from the front
right wheel area,I'm assuming a front wheel bearing is going out.......
10. I thought the alfettas had a water pump pulley mounted clutch fan;this has
an electric fan that looks like one half of the GTV6 setup, mounted on the
radiator (which itself is mounted at a slight angle,is this normal?)
11.The cams are chain driven,I pulled the cam cover off and there was no play
in the timing chain.Coming from the V6 timing belt/water pump school, does this
chain need to be replaced ?How long do they last?
12.Where could I get some photos of this car? There is no badging on this car
except for the Alfa logos (small, with the silver wreath)on the front of the
grille and the rear decklid.Shouldn't there be some sort of badging, versus
stickers on the front fenders?I'd like to return this car to as stock
condition as I can,but the missus loves and wants to keep the rear fender
flares.(Says the car looks like a refugee from one of the Mad Max movies)
13.Would someone like to buy my 1984 GTV6?Hard realisation from the chief
financial officer of the Akins family (Sharon),I don't really need two of the
same type of cars. The milano will never be sold,I wanted an older Alfa; so
that leaves "Vito".I didn't pay a whole lot for the car,and I'd like to sell
it (it will be a cheap, fair price) to someone who will drive it,not part it
out.Email me for specifics.
Thanks for the help,Alfisti!
