test driving Romeros

Dave Shimano's questions on why non-alfisti call them Alfa Romeros reminded
me of a prospective buyer looking at new cars when I worked at Rosanova
Alfa.  I must have been in one of my more obnoxious moods, but I had had
enough of hearing 'Romero'.  I pointed up to the sign and said "Look there
is only one 'R' in the word.  It is Rom-A-YO, sounds like MAYO-naise.  If
you want to test drive the car, you have to say it first."  After several
tries and my continued coaching he got it right, and we went for a ride.

Needless to say, I didn't sell a car that day.
