The real issue regarding paint blending is the skill of the painter. A good
painter and a good paint matcher is not the same thing. Also, the sales
hype of the shop owner is not the issue either. If you are concerned about
how well the new paint applied to a damaged area will match with existing
paint, then you should interview the person that will do the work. Ask him
bluntly how well he thinks his color matching skill is. Ask to see
examples. And, once you find someone in a shop that you think can do the
work properly, then make sure that he is the one who will do the work.
