grandfathering for street/vintage race car project in Canada

In AD7-406 C. Peter Audet asks some easy questions (for vintage racing
grandfathering purposes) about the 1975 GTV 2000 -"The Question: Was the 1975
(really '74, just continued to another year?) cosmetically and mechanically
identical to the first year the 2000 was produced (1971? 1972?) Were they
available with carbs (Weber?)or injection? What about the locking
differential: option? standard?

Fusi gives the production date range for the 2000 GT Veloce as 1970-'77,
although in his serial-number listings none are listed before 1971; he states
(p.719) that the car was introduced in June 1971. The US version only had
injection, the ROW got 2 carburatori dopio corpo orizzontali which were often
Dellortos in Europe but more commonly Webers elsewhere, I believe. For the
ponte posteriore he lists diff. autoblocc, no indication that it was just an
option. There were no mechanical changes or cosmetic changes over the years
other than different paint color options.

His second question is a bit more "iffy" in the books I have at hand. "One
option is a 1970 gt jr, orig. 1300 cc, now has 1750 engine. The Question is:
were the 1300 & 1750 models identical cosmetically and mechanically, except
for the engine? Also, were they both carbs (Weber?) or was fuel inj.
available?"

The 1300s were produced with name changes and some cosmetic differences from
1966 at least through 1974. The stepnose was dropped no later than 1971. The
interior cosmetics were unified from 1969 except for the console, absent from
the 1300. The 1300 had two headlights instead of four until around 1974, at
which point the two cars were cosmetically identical except for the
bumperguards, missing from the 1300. On carbs, again injection was only on the
US cars which did not include 1300s, the others were two horizontals.

A firmer source on the cosmetic details is the d'Amico-Tabucchi "Production
Cars", but Fusi should be good enough for the eligibility committee.
