Totalled Alfa

<<<<<
Before I go toe to toe with the adjuster I would appreciate any informaton
on book value and retail value on the car, an '87 silver 5 speed, in great
shape "sob", aprox 90,000 miles.

Do you think I can buy the car back, I can use the drivetrain in my GT6.

Make the insurance company use the "Cars of Particular Interest" (CPI),
*NOT* the NADA wholesale guide for pricing your car. Very few Alfas go
through dealer hands, and the ones that do are pretty crappy. Good Alfas go
from owner to owner.

About buying back the wreck: I've seen several companies do that because it
lowers their expenditure. Find out what an average junkyard will offer for
the Alfa, and offer a little higher than that to the adjuster.

Piece of advice: when you negotiate with the adjuster, be calm. Pretend
you're Mr. Spock presenting a logical case on why the vehicle is worth more
than the insurance company is offering. The claims adjuster is just
following the normal rules of paying claims, and probably hasn't seen an
Alfa Romeo. If you are reasonable, and can present evidence that their
offer isn't correct, most insurance companies will work with you.

great!)
