Leaded fuel for fools

When are all of you asking questions about leaded fuel going to smarten up?
No engine ever needs leaded fuel anymore because octane ratings are high
enough for all but race cars.  Just forget that lead does anything for the
engine!  But ruin the cat con.  Fred Di matteo

I must disagree
lead was added to fuel primarily to stop pre-detonation or "pinking"
Unfortunately the exhaust is very bad  for humans health and so they
replaced the lead with other things like benzine which is even worse for
your health

In my country catalytic converters  are not required anyway. Mind you the
oxygen sensor doesn't much like lead either.
