battery relocation

Hello and Happy New Year to all,
Does anyone have any advice on how to relocate the battery to the trunk 
as advised in the Alfa Competition Manual?  They just show an arrow from 
the left front engine compartment location to the right rear in the 
trunk, but there does not appear to be enough room back there to fit a 
standard size battery without interfering with the spare tire well or 
fender. I heard that racers in the group use a small aviation battery 
and mount it flush with the trunk floor, but what about a street car 
with a "regular" size battery?  Thanks. S.E.
