Re:a car for Richard,Milano driveshaft vibration questions

Greetings Alfisti!
First, count me IN on a donation for a GTV for Richard.Since I am no
longer a part of AROC the Digest is (and has been for me) the best source I
have for anything Alfa.$10.00 isn't much, it's less than all of the auto
related magazine supscriptions I've ever seen.
Second, this is for my internet impaired friend, Bryan
(Rosso75).He got his clutch together and put his car together yesterday.Took
me for a short ride in the car,and his '87Milano Verde sounded and felt like a
washing machine that was overloaded on the spin cycle...............Tons of
vibration and a sound akin to "groan, moan, whir and rumble"that increased as
speed increased.Any ideas on what he may have done incorrectly?
He took out the driveshaft, and replaced the "C" clip that had broken
in his clutch assembly(It's possible that his center carrier bearing on the
driveshaft could be worn out).He needs to know if he could replace all of the
bolts and washers on the drive shaft with new ones (same size bolt and number
of washers on each bolt),and balance the driveshaft as a complete
assembly, rather than putting one washer on one bolt, 3 washers on another
bolt, and 1 on another bolt as his rear shaft was bolted previously. He intends
to take it apart again in the near future and wants to facilitate ease of
reassembly (and not having to remember where each bolt had how many
washers, etc).Could someone give me some ideas on this that I can pass on to
him;he's rather perplexed and since this is his first Alfa his frustration
level is getting a bit high. He's had the car 15 months now and has driven it
maybe 200 miles in that time.If you could, please send me the
ideas, suggestions and thoughts you may have.I'll get it to him.
On a non Alfa subject;does anyone have any idea where Bryan could get a
passenger side headlight assembly, grille, and right turn signal lamp for a
1988 Audi 90 Quattro? They're scarce as hens teeth in the DC area.
Please respond off digest to Milanogold@domain.elided
Thanks and stay warm!
