Soft Milano pedal & Dick's car & Synthetic oil

Hi Alfisti

Hope you all had a happy New Year.
I tend to side with the MC failure in the soft pedal situation that Joe
mentioned in AD 358. A good check is to look at the fluid in the reservoir.
If it has black sediments and blackish color, then it is defiantly the MC's
seals went bad. Last month I rebuild two MCs; an ATE and Benditalia. Some of
the ATE seal were cracked and the Benditalia seal were worn out which
resulted in blackish fluid color. After rebuilding, I tried both of them.
the ATE worked fine, but the Benditalia was causing the wheels to lock up
after few miles. I need to add a washer to replace the white plastic washer
that did not come in the kit. This washer is needed to keep the collar from
moving back when the push rod returns. This collar breaks the MC's main seal
when the push rod goes back and allows the fluid to return to the reservoir.

Count me in to help buy a GTV for Richard.

Joe Cabibbo found out that his cam lobes and followers had some significant
wear on them when he replaced his cams back in late October. He said he used
Synthetic oil on his car since almost new. I do not know how many miles he
has on his car, but may be his autocrossing and the use of Synthetic oil
contributed to that wear. Just a thought.
