SULFUR SMELL??

ok: here's what's happening:

under hard acceleration (like getting up to speed on the highway)
my 86 spider has a strange smell of (burning?) sulfur. it's isn't
overwhelming,
but odd.

i know all sorts of strange smells that cars can make, but this one is new
to me.
anyone know what it might be? as far as i can tell all fluids are at their
correct
levels & no major leaks (common puddle of oil at #1 spark hole & slightly
leaky
pan gasket...)
