Tractor Engines and Lucas

A Former TRisto writes . . .

No, it was the Standard Vanguard and Triumph TR1 - 4 that used a
Massey-Ferguson 2 litre 4 cyl tractor engine. In the days when I lived in
Abingdon -- home of the MG, by the way; our home shared a backyard wall
with the factory; and when home alone, I slept with the window open, lulled
by the factory sounds -- I bought engine parts from Massey-Ferguson, rather
than British-Leyland

Nothing to add to the Lucas jokes so far. It's simply too sensitive a subject

Obligatory Alfa Content: Spider due back from MiniMan -- still the British
connection -- next monday. Purists prepare to be outraged!

Cheers!
