Yes Steve, you are basically correct, although there are several minor
differences, the lamps & lenses are interchangeable. The bad news is
that here in England, the home of Lucas, they are now very hard to find.
The Lucas part numbers are 53541D for the complete unit, & 574069 for
the lens alone

You could find them at parts markets a few years ago but if you said
that it was for an Alfa then the price went up (seller thinks "Alfa,
Italian, must be rare & valuable"). So you said it was for a
Metropolitan & they felt sorry for you ("poor fellow, better let him
have it for a song before he gets put away, I'll never find another mug
like him again"

Now the Metropoitan is a desirable object (UGH!) & you can't get the
lamps or lenses anywhere.

By the way, the lamps are sometimes also seen on Sprints destined for
the US.

Sorry that I can't offer Alex a lens.
