Hesitant Milano 3.0l

Ok, I am starting to loose it..
My Verde has a nasty hesitation in the 2000 to 3000 range.  It is very bad
when it is cold.  The higher RPMs there is no problem. 

I have replaced the plugs, air flow meter, fuel filter, I have checked all
the fuel injection sensors, and changed the fuel filter.  All with no luck.
I will be driving along and sometimes it feels like the motor loses power
(or as if it gives a slight buck.)  

Another strange thing it does is that say I really step on it at highway
speed and release the gas pedal abruptly, the engine will give a little kick
as if I stepped on the gas again for a second..

Thoughts?  Comments??
