shifting tips

The best daily shifting tips I ever learn is: shift with three fingers( at
most ).
With this method, 100,000 miles and seven years down the road.  The 
leather shifter nob looks even newer than it is out of factory.
On the other hand, I seen so many threadbare shifter with only
30,000 miles or less.   No need to look at mechanical parts, the nob
tells it all.
