I think this is the bottom line. I have had my spider as a daily
driver for the last ten years. For a while there aida and I had the
spider and a milano as our two vehicles to got to work, i.e.  a two
alfa, two daily driver family and no other cars. Last year I had the
car repainted and it was absolutely perfect. It took me a while but I
found all the parts I needed and had the car totally stripped and
repainted, it looks just great. A couple of weeks ago I drove out in
the rain to pick up some take-out chinese food and was driving down an
side-road at about 10 MPH when i fell in a pot hole that was so full
of water it looked level with the street, what a sickening feeling.  I
thought I tore off the oil pan, instead it was the front spoiler that
took the hit. I really wished I was driving a 4-wheel drive that day.
