Ron,
 The master is not that difficult to rebuild, and more than likely will last
for several years, providing the master is in good condition. A good kit
will cost something around $25 to $35 so your really only saving about 60
bucks and your time must be worth something so your really only saving about
35 bucks, and  the bottle of  Tums to get rid of the stomach acid from
wondering if you did it correctly, and the case of beer you will need to
bribe your friend to hang out with you all day Saturday  while you do it and
the Band-Aid from jamming your hand removing the circlip. So you're  really
only saving about $10.00 if your lucky.
The way I look at it every time I use the brakes they save my life. What's
that worth?
Scrimp on anything else not the brakes
