Re: cam turning tool

When I can't get a socket on the crank nut - I use my cam turning tool to turn
the cams and engine (spark plugs out helps a lot) - the little pins on the
tool hold up just fine.

Yes, there is some resistance - only time I've ever had a problem was with a
car in which the cams were very badly worn and valve clearences set too close
- - on that car I pulled out the vice-grips wrapped in a rag - they work as good
as the "tool" - but may chew up the cam a little if the vice grips are allowed
to slip on the shaft.

Stand on the drivers side of the car - reach over the engine - put the tool on
the intake cam and pull towards you - i.e. rotate the engine clockwise (viewed
from the front of the car). Make sure car is out of gear.
