Ward-Dean suspension

I had posted this question but did not see it listed (possible that I did
not address correctly) if it did appear I apologize in advance.  I am
interested in information on the  Ward Dean suspension.  I know it is used
for racing and think it is similar to a GTA suspension (is this true?). Is
there an advantage to this setup for street? Or is this a waste of good
money?
