105 balljoint removal

Any hints on removing upper and lower balljoints on 105/115 front 
suspension? (Spring is out).

Beyond the normal "loosen the nut, load up the joint as best you can, 
hit across the taper" approach, are there any particular tricks or 
tools that make the job easier?

I've done plenty of balljoints on other cars, just wondering if there 
are any particular approaches that people have found useful for these. 
The lower looks as though it could be a little awkward because of the 
way the upright surrounds it.
