164LS Auto Trans Brake Interlock Switch

Regarding the brake-pedal operated switch that signals the automatic
transmission that the brake pedal is released and it is OK to release
the auto tran from PARK---

I have had three of these buggers go out on my '95 164LS. The current
one is failing intermittently- it will work one time and not the next. I
have not yet noticed any pattern to this.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a permanent fix?
