Paul, your description of your problem matches the one I had on my GTV exactly.  It would start fine in the
morning when cold, but nothing happens if I should try to restart after a short drive or when the temperature
comes up.  Your starter is about to pack up for good.  I was able to temporarily encourage a few more starts
from mine before it died completely by tapping on it with a spanner.  Then I got it rebuilt in a day for $70,
solenoid rebuild included.

Let me know if you want the name, address & phone number of the shop that did the rebuild here in Cape Cod.
I did post that about 5 digests ago.
