RE: Popping Exhaust

HI,

     I am responding to the question about the popping exhaust sounds on 
deceleration.  I
have a 1981 GTV6 that has ALWAYS made the awesome popping sounds on 
deceleration.  It became
even louder as I put headers on the car and removed the cat..  I must say 
that the popping sound is one of the many reasons I love driving the car. 
 VRRRRROOOOOOMMMMMM  POP POP POP POP!!!!!!! I LOVE THIS SOUND!!!!!!!!!!!! 
 Like someone said earlier on the digest, it really gets the attention of 
people on the streets.  I once saw a group of really goodlooking girls
standing outside at a club waiting to get in and as I drove by in my 
GTV6; I hammered the
accelerator to the floor and at about 5000 rpm  (VVVVRRRROOOOOOMMMMMM) I 
let go and (POP
POP POP POP) and all those beautiful women just looked at the car a 
smiled!!!  Girls
love these cars.  Anyway, to answer your question, the popping sound is 
normal and adds to
the beautiful exhaust note of any Alfa.
