If you have a panel composed of four parts, as I have, there are some good
advice at /alfa/FAQ/164/notes_55.htm#panel on how to
remove them.

I'd like to ad to this that the easiest way, if my memory serves me right, to
remove the inside door handle is to:

Remove all screws, lower the side window and pull the upper panel together with
the handle upwards. The metal bracket in the door that holds the handle is open
upwards.
To reinstall you first push the upper panel in place and then push the conical
end of the handle though the hole in the panel into the metal bracket in the
door.
