101 with plastic fan

Sorry but no one got that one right. The 101 1300 in 61 and 62 did not come
with a cast fan. There was a special cast iron adapter which went onto the
same water pump as the 750 cars used which allowed the plastic fan to be
attached. This hub is fixed to the water pump by a key and nut. The Guilia
1600 cars used a different adapter which was pressed onto the shaft. The
pump also had a different geometry and cannot be used on the 1300 engine.
The 750 and 101 1300 water pumps use a shaft onto which mounts the impeller
and two sealed ball bearings. The 1600 style used a more conventional water
pump bearing which includes the shaft and integral wider bearing. This is
pretty much how all water pumps are now made.

The 105 1300 water pump will not fit onto the 750 or 101 blocks since the
impeller geometry requires a different relief cut into the timing cover.

The adapter used on the 101 1300 engine is a very desirable part. The large
heavy aluminum fan tends to wear out the delicate bearings in a 750 style
water pump. Using a small blade plastic fan significantly extends the pump
life and is much quieter.

There were indeed 3 styles of tail lights used on the Giulietta. Lucas,
Altissimo, and Carello. The Lucas lights were also used on the Nash Metro
and Harley motorcycles.
