Jack's solution may not be relevant - I assume that Giro's car is here in
Oz, and so has floor mounted pedals.  

Giro - what happens if you try and take your foot off the clutch while
stationary with the brakes on?  does the clutch slip at all?  maybe theres a
blockage or pinch in the line somewhere?  have a look under the car and see
if the line has been squished anywhere...
