1750 GT Veloce colors

In AD7-082 John Wright of San Francisco (AlfaMilano@ aol.com, surnameless in
recent postings as John, but not the same john as the other John) asks about
the different color options that were available in 1969 for the GT Veloce.

Alfa listed a limited range of standard colors in the Body Shop Manual of the
period, but the color range started expanding rapidly afterwards. Initially
the "P.F." colors were only on the Spiders, and that tended to be the case
later but with exceptions. Be aware that the distributors in different
countries sometimes used different names for the standard colors, in
conformity with local conventions, e.g. 'Navy Blue' for the 'Bleu Olandese-
Dutch blue'. Also, in the USA, and presumably in other markets as well, the
importers could offer a more limited range of colors presumably to simplify
inventory and marketing.

According to d'Amico-Tabucchi, the color range used for the 1750 was initially
quite limited, then added to ('successivamente', but without a date given),
then further expanded in 1971. The d'A-T listing, in Italian and English, to
which I have added the AR color codes where I have them, along with the Alfa
Body Shop Manual's color name (BSM) where it differs, are::

AR-209 verde muschio - musk green (called dark green in the BSM )
AR 537 bleu chiaro metallizzato.- light blue metallic
AR-213 verde oliva metallizzato- olive green metallic
AR 727 grigio chiaro metalizzato - light grey (called medium grey met in the
BSM )
AR 901 nero- black

Successivamente,

AR-112 ocra scuro- dark ochre
AR-113 giallo- yellow
AR-008 bianco Pininfarina.- Pininfarina white (called Farina white in the BSM
)
AR-103 avario .- ivory (called avario P.F.- ivory in the BSM )
AR 301 celeste - sky blue (called celeste P.F.- light blue in the BSM )
AR 323 bleu Pininfarina - Pininfarina blue (called bleu P.F.- Farina blue in
the BSM)
AR 514 rosso Italia - Italian red (called rosso Italia P.F.- Farina red in the
BSM )
AR 219 verde inglese - British racing green (NOT LISTED in the BSM )
AR 716 grigio grafite- graphite grey

dal 1971 al 1972 anche:

AR-013 biancospino- hawthorn white (called biancospino- white in the BSM )
AR 735 grigio indaco- indigo grey (called grigio indaco- grey in the BSM )
AR 821 beige Cava- beige
AR 509 amaranto- amaranth (called rosso amaranto- amaranth in the BSM )
AR 327 bluette- light blue (called bluette- petrol blue in the BSM )
AR 343 blu Olandese- Dutch blue
AR 736 antracite Inglese- English anthracite (called Antracite Inglese-
English Graphite in the BSM )
AR 516 Faggio - beech (called Faggio - Dark Maroon in the BSM )
AR-109 Giallo Ocra- ochre
AR-216 Verde pino- Pine green
AR 342 Blu Francia- French Blue
AR 501 Rosso Alfa- Alfa red
AR 728 Grigio Medio metallizato- metalic mid-grey

Finally, I would not ever take d'Amico-Tabucchi (or Fusi, for that matter,) as
infallible; the fact that this listing does not include plum (used for
amaranth sometimes) before 1971 doesn't mean John's 1969 isn't what it is.
