164 "brake" light

Since ( I confess--I temporarily became a checkbook mechanic) a local 
Alfa shop repaired the stepper motor etc in my '91 164L, the BRAKE light 
has been on--the one that indicates low fluid--(which isn't the case.) I 
think there was a thread on this not too long ago. Any suggestions on 
where to look, what to hit, which crowbar to use?
