164 Front shocks

My 89 164 A front shocks are now totally had it. My car spends most of its
time bottoming out and I really hate that bang. I'm sure it isn't that good
for the car either. My question is what type of shocks do I go for? I can
get some Alfa ones from the UK for 100 pounds each.(they are at least 180
pounds here) or for around that price should I be looking for something
better? I have heard there are some Koni's that may fit. Do they? Are they
worth it? Are they available in the UK? Any advice would be appreciated. I
have a friend going to Britain in the next few weeks so if they are
available in that part of the world it will save on postage.
