ALTERNATOR FOR 66 SPRINT GT MOTOR ?

I am currently restoring a 62 Giulia spider. I am told the engine (
AR00514*59217 ) and transmission I inherited with the car was originally
from a 66 Sprint GT. I do not have either a generator or alternator
with the car. I would prefer to fit an alternator for better charging
and to eliminate the control box. I would like the advice of fellow
Alfisti as follows :

Do I need to get a Bosch alternator off a later Alfa ?
Is there a modern substitute ( maybe Japanese ..... cringe )
Is this a simple bolt on ?
Did the Sprint GT originally come with an alternator ?
