Tim, the stuff I use for exterior plastic and rubber is Mother's Back to 
Black.  Don't be deceived by the name--its good for all plastic and 
rubber colors.  I'm loath to take anything gritty etc to any 
plastic/rubber, too much work to do it right, and that means taking off 
material....  Anyhow, I have had nothing but good results with it, makes 
that plastic strip around the Milano look show!  The stuff has a 
conditioner, UV protectant etc in it.  Give it a whirl, follow the 
directions and see how it goes, it's pretty cheap.  There are probably 
several products out there like this, but this is the one I am familiar 
with and I generally like Mother's products.  Don't worry, I'm a 
molecular biologist, I don't work for them....
