It is a popular police sterotype, probably originating in the 30s-40s
and made popular in movies. Many people think of donuts when they think
of cops, and vice versa. While it is true that many police cars are
spotted at the donut shop in my little town of Houston, it must be noted
that near as many can be seen at the 24 hour diners.
