Us: Giubo, CV & Hooke

In AD7-007 Rodney Tidwell, having seen an ad for an auto Sport Sedan which
needed a u-joint, asks about the joints in an automatic-transmission Sport
Sedan, and also "does the auto sport sedan have a transaxle in the rear or a
more conventional setup?"

Box in the rear, definitely, and the same rubber flex-joints as all other
transaxle Alfas, which can reasonably be considered universal joints even if
they are not Hooke joints. Someone placing the fs ad he saw might well have
assumed that non-Alfa people might not understand giubo, regardless of how it
was spelled. Or, less likely, it could have been a CV joint, which is at least
as universal as a Hooke.
