Every wheel bearing I have ever had to change made a very distinct whining
sound as it was going bad. It usually occurred at lower speeds first, then
progressed to all speeds. Front wheel bearings will usually start whining
only on turns at first (at least that's my experience). If they're bad,
change them quickly, lest ye have scarring...
